TL;DR

Choose Iconosquare if you have to report on social performance: it tracks more than 100 metrics, builds custom dashboards, benchmarks you against competitors and produces white-label reports, with plans from €9 a month billed yearly and a free tier to try. Choose Reel Intel if the thing you cannot answer is what to post next: it reads your Reels in depth and ranks the formats, hooks and topics that are producing your views. Iconosquare tells you and your client what happened. Reel Intel tells you what to make next.

The short answer

So which one should you pick?

Iconosquare is the more complete product, and it is the better choice for anyone whose job includes proving results to somebody else. Custom dashboards and white-label reports are not decoration, they are the reason agencies pay for it. Reel Intel is deliberately narrower, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend to be a reporting suite we are not.

  • Pick Iconosquare if you report to clients, run several brands, or need dashboards and benchmarking you can hand over
  • Pick Reel Intel if you need to know which formats, hooks and topics to post next, ranked by your own views
  • Iconosquare has a free tier with 2 profiles, 10 posts a month and basic analytics, and paid plans from €9 a month billed yearly
  • Competitor benchmarking sits higher up its ladder, while Reel Intel includes a tracked account from £25 a month
  • Use both if you report on your accounts and also need to decide what to film

Where Iconosquare wins

The honest case for Iconosquare

Iconosquare has been around since the Statigram days and it shows in the reporting. More than 100 metrics per platform, dashboards you can arrange around a client's goals, automated reports that go out on a schedule, campaign and paid performance tracking, hashtag and industry benchmarking, and a unified inbox on the mid tier. The top plans add white-label reporting, more users and API access.

For an agency producing monthly client reports, that saves hours per client and it is worth the money. If reporting is the job, Iconosquare is the stronger tool and it would be strange for us to claim otherwise.

The gap

A better report is not a better next post

Reporting tools describe performance with increasing precision, and Iconosquare does that very well. What none of them do is read the Reels behind the metrics and turn them into a decision about your next post. That is not a knock on the reporting. It is simply a different job, and it is the one we chose.

It matters because the answer is rarely visible in the totals. We analysed 41 Instagram accounts and found 88% post most on a topic that is not their best performer. The effort goes to the weakest content and the strongest gets starved, and no dashboard surfaces it, because the pattern lives in what each Reel actually is. Reel Intel reads up to 100 of your Reels and up to 100 of each account you track, classifies each one across format, hook, emotional trigger, CTA, length, topic and audio, and turns it into 30 Days of Posts with the hook and format for each one.

You can measure every metric there is and still not know what to film tomorrow. Measurement is not a decision.

The limits

What Reel Intel is not

  • Not a reporting suite. No white-label reports, no custom dashboards, no scheduled report delivery
  • Not a scheduler or publisher. Nothing goes out automatically
  • Not multi-network. It reads Instagram Reels, not TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn or YouTube
  • Not a campaign tool. No paid performance tracking, no hashtag monitoring, no industry benchmarks
  • Not built for agencies. There is no client workspace, no multi-user roles and no approval flow
What you get

Discover, Compare, Dominate, Conquer and Custom

  • Discover reads your own account from every angle: your real benchmarks, and the formats, hooks and topics that win for you ranked by views.
  • Compare tracks one account you choose in detail: how you stack up on views and reach, and the gaps behind their best Reels.
  • Dominate tracks up to three and turns it all into 30 Days of Posts, with the hook and format for each one.
  • Conquer tracks up to ten accounts, so you can see who is winning across your market and where it is heading next.
  • Custom tracks every account you want, with a 1:1 onboarding call and priority support.

Discover: reads your own account in depth. Compare (£25 a month): adds one account you track. Dominate (£49 a month): tracks up to three and adds the full four-week plan. Conquer (£99 a month): tracks up to ten. Custom (£199 a month): tracks every account you want, with a 1:1 onboarding call. See the full breakdown on how it works or the plans and pricing.

Common questions

Iconosquare and Reel Intel, answered

Is Iconosquare better than Reel Intel?

On reporting, yes, and comfortably. Iconosquare tracks more than 100 metrics, builds custom dashboards, benchmarks you against competitors and produces white-label reports, which is why agencies and brands use it. Reel Intel is not a reporting suite and does not try to be. It does one job: reading your Instagram Reels in depth and telling you which formats, hooks and topics to post next. If you need to prove performance to a client, Iconosquare is the better buy. If you need to decide what to film, that is ours.

Does Iconosquare tell you what to post next?

No. Iconosquare shows you how your content and your competitors' content performed, with a best-time-to-post suggestion and content ideas among its AI features. It does not read each Reel and rank the formats, hooks and topics worth repeating. Reporting the past and choosing the next post are separate jobs.

Who is Iconosquare for?

Agencies, multi-brand teams and social media managers who have to report on performance regularly. The custom dashboards, white-label reports, campaign tracking and competitor benchmarking are built for that, and the top plans add more users and API access. A single creator posting Reels to sell something usually needs far less reporting than that.

What does Reel Intel do that Iconosquare does not?

It reads the content itself. Reel Intel classifies up to 100 of your Reels and up to 100 of each account you track across format, hook, emotional trigger, CTA, length, topic and audio, ranks what is producing your views, and turns it into 30 Days of Posts with the hook and format for each one. Iconosquare reports what happened; Reel Intel tells you what to make next and why.

Stop guessing. Post what works. Your own Reels already know what to post next. Our AI reads them and hands you the plan.
